By LH codeshare flight, do you mean a flight operated by LH but with a UA flight number, e.g., UA8844 operated by LH? If so, you first need to ask the agent to convert the UA codeshare flight number into a LH "prime" flight number, with the reason that you want to apply PlusPoints to upgrade. Once that's done, apply your PlusPoints using the online tool--phone agents cannot do this.
