Why do you think Avis is "doing anything" with the email address? Surely like any other business email user you've long given up any thoughts of privacy over that email address given the number of times you've given it out to others.

IF ANYTHING, is Avis doing with the inputted email address?" No one is saying Avis is doing
anything with it. All we know is Avis is collecting it. If it's simply a way for Avis to help verify legitimate access to use of the code (and they do nothing more with it), then so be it. But is there more to it? Are they storing it and using it for future correspondences? Future marketing campaigns? Something else? Let's call it curiosity.
