First time I’ve seen this. I had booked a rental months ago with Hertz starting tomorrow (august 24) for 5 days out of my local airport for an upcoming trip. I received an email today, 1 day before the rental, stating that “customers residing in the ottawa area not arriving by air with return airfare will no longer be able to to rent a car from the ottawa airport”

this seems pretty preposterous.

the email was sent by an employee from the local branch.

anyone experience this before? I guess I will book a fully refundable airfare to show the counter then cancel it.
