Ah. sorry if that's the case I have misunderstood and I apologise.
I know it's a bit late now, but I think BA were allowing cancellations up to 48 hours after booking at the time in acknowledgement of the issues in terms of getting through.
Also to be fair the page were you apply is pretty clear that you are applying for a voucher. I agree tho it has been disappointing BA remove the ability to do online voluntary cancellations, and still haven't really reinstated it.
