I doubt there is any tangible difference. I spoke to a Gold guest during our recent stay and felt everything was the same. They were given a day room (BV to be exact) to use on departure day whereas we got moved to a GOWV on our departure day - could have been based on avaialbility? And yes breakfast and evening drinks are identical.
