The lobby would certainly work in a Design Hotels property, but I'd say the room decor is most in line with the Le Meridien look. The last JW I stayed in was a historic building in Mayfair, where such buildings are in ready supply by comparison, ready to be rebranded as they move between hotel chains. Singapore doesn't really have that, and no one is building "new" historic buildings, so new properties will always be built in the "current" style. One consequence of that is that they don't tend to age very well...
