Very odd that this is a JW Marriott to me, which are normally very old fashioned and a bit staid whilst this looks like a particularly out there Design Hotel. I understand that some of the interior design was done by Philippe Starck but certainly not one of his best projects to me, all the metal and mirrored finishes screams early noughties nightclub.
The hotel started its life as a hotel without any chain affiliation. JW Marriott inherited this look, and did very little to update it as everything was still brand new when it was flagged in to Marriott.
