which is the first step on them refusing to help you in any way at all. They claim overseas visitors shouldn't know about the card because "we do not advertise on tourist websites" - also a direct quote from their emails - yet that is exactly how I found about the card.
Good luck trying to deal with those people. 6 trips to The Netherlands over the years, and the Museum Kaart staff are the only people I've ever encountered who were outright hostile to visitors to the country.
What a shame, and indeed, quite unusual for the Dutch. Just for the fun, i found a vacancy for client service employe for Museumkaart. One requirement was to speak and write fluent dutch without mistakes. However, english is usually also required for client service jobs.... well, nothing about english in this vacancy description for Museumkaart... Go figure....
