Does AA ever pull a new plane out of the hanger to get flights back on time?
I find it fascinating to watch a specific AA plane move through the day from early morning to evening. Especially regional jets that are more like a bus than a fancy jet. A Regional Jet on the AA schedule may take up to 8 flights between cities in a day. Because there is so little time between the plane's arrival and departure in the schedule, a delay creates a wave of delays in each city the plane is supposed to fly to.
Do they ever try to get a plane on time later in the day by pulling a replacement flight out of a hanger or change equipment as a way to get better on-time performance for late afternoon or evening flights?
