Oh sorry, if it's different people, of course. I didn't catch the "P2" (presuming that means person 2) reference for some reason when I first read your post. Do that, then have the front desk just keep both reservations in the same room, as you note. My SO and I do this often when we each have one free night certificate and want to have a two-night trip somewhere.
