Around labor day was about the time I purchased ALL my briggs and riley luggage. But, I think they were also trying to reduce inventory because they knew they were coming out with all new products.

Based on last year, it doesn't look like the prices dropped around labor day. I would go with the "A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush" analogy. That's what I go with, and don't look back.

Also, put in a price alert on camel for any and all products that you're interested in and get notified immediately when the prices drop. I've gotten some serious deals that way over the years. I don't use that much anymore since I'm not in the USA often. You can do it for food items too. I got about 20 bags of Tortellini because of some deals, and a bunch of other shelf stable food. Columbia sportswear and so many things I can't recall. However, it will NEVER show you Amazon lightening deals or Prime Day deals. Good luck.

*there's a similar site for Walmart, but I forgot the name of it. I don't shop at walmart.
