Hi everyone,

I'll try to answer everyone in one thread, and clarify some of my earlier:

I originally posted for advice for a couple of reasons:
  1. I was being bounced between AC and AP when I asked for the points back. I'm still waiting to hear from AP but I think I'm making some progress there.
  2. My husband's name was not called during the usual pre-flight when people receive new seat assignments. It was when we boarded in zone 1. He was told there was a problem with his seat and that he'd have to wait for everyone to board. This was outside of any experience we had.
Of note:
  1. My husband wasn't issued a new seat assignment. His boarding pass, and as far as I can tell, AC records indicate that he was in his J class seat and not in row 33 where the pilot was originally assigned. I'm still investigating this part.
  2. The pilot was truly heading home. No deadhead. They were freely sharing information during the flight, but it's not for me to disclose their personal plans. They don't really matter, because my issue isn't with the pilot, it's with AC and the gate agent.
Thanks so much for all of your responses! I'm just hoping to get the points back somehow, and to provide AC with the feedback that they simply needed to advise prior to boarding. There was lots of time to do so - our flight was delayed by an hour.
