We are booked there for late Dec 22 (all points as rates are over 100k JPY so far), so hoping Japan will decide to open by then for individual tourists and not just those weird groups. Recent increases in flight capacities to Japan from US / SE Asia from Oct / Nov onwards give some hope (maybe). We shall see.

As Diamond Ambassador I would be counting on the breakfast especially though upgrade I could imagine to be similar to what you received as it would be a busy period I assume. Late checkout at least after noon time could come in handy too (may not need 4pm) depending on which train to Fukuoka we would decide to catch.
