Any decent restaurants near the Conrad? What's the closest hawker centre?
Agreeing with everyone about Din Tai Fung being overrated. There are some decent cheap eats in the basement of Suntec, which is the where you enter when taking the underground passage. If you don't get free breakfast at the Conrad, which is pretty decent, walk across the street to Millenia Walk and there are some pastry shops with plenty of buns to fill you up. If you want hawker food, take a grab to "Old Airport Road Food Centre & Shopping mall" which is 10 min away. Go hungry. You'll need to be carried out. If this is your first time in Singapore, be prepared to sweat since it's open air and HOT.
