I was a little concerned about T3 this morning, as getting to Heathrow was a pain because the tube strike yesterday meant services weren’t running until 8am (I was on a flight shortly after 10). I ended up going via Paddington, which was quite a way out of my usual route.

However, even arriving at terminal 3 at 08:23, there were only a few people in front of me at Fast Track security (after the boarding pass scan). I was through within 9 minutes of arriving at the terminal, and in the Cathay lounge 2 minutes later.

I don’t know if Saturdays are better than they were a month or so ago (I recall another poster having an hour or so wait at Fast Track at around this time) and I’ve no idea how things are during the week. But the ease with which I got from public transport to lounge today rivalled Newcastle, which for a terminal the size of LHR T3 during a summer of chaos is very impressive. If only we could rely on this the rest of the time - I could shave a lot of padding from my schedules when I fly from LHR!
