Wrapping up 4-night stay with family as first component of LV vacation - used this as home base for venturing out areas south and west of Vegas proper (including Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Lake Mead - or what's left of Lake Mead, anyway, and Valley of Fire state park) before shifting to Summerlin area next and finally on strip. In this sense, fit our needs and also was nice way of easing into vacation mode with distance and comparative tranquility of not being VEGAS VEGAS VEGAS (which, I acknowledge, would be a detriment for many). Used new confirmed connecting rooms function to secure adjoining King suite + 2 Double (Queen) lake view room - assigned to same floor/wing that aspenedelen was - overlooking the village and lake/marina.

Globally positive experience. Thoughts and observations:

> Seamless check-in via app that morning - actually received notification of ready rooms before even left departure airport. I did stop at desk to get physical keys also - FDA with British accent pleasant, if somewhat perfunctory in duties - quickly explained no full room housekeeping for 4-night stay and that we'd receive $30 (2 x $15) daily Diamond FNB credit.
> For the first time in quite a while, digital key(s) have worked - even with 2 rooms attached to reservation. On the other hand, this hotel has not enabled in-app chat function, it seems.
> Rooms spotlessly clean (I was a bit concerned about this having scanned recent TA/Google reviews.) and amply spacious. aspenedelen 's 2019 photos still largely reflective of decor and furnishings - very classic/heavy - suspect similar to what it looked like initially as Ritz 20+ years ago - and showing some wear (King room desk chair with rip in seat, toiletry shelf in 2 Double room shower was obviously ripped out at some point and not replaced). Balcony attached to both rooms (individually - suite balcony accessible from both living and bedroom areas). They are walled off/enclosed: on one hand, this make more private; on other hand, limits airflow (which, relevantly, resulted in big pool of accumulated rain water from overnight storm third night that still hasn't evaporated 24+ hours later). HVAC units have generally kept up with 100+ degree heat, though fan output is not robust - would likely not please those that prefer chill/blast mode. Refrigerators working well, too. No microwaves in room. No robes. Bathrooms each have separate shower and tub - good shower pressure.
> As noted, no daily housekeeping, but could request on demand. Found new towels and toiletries dropped off after 2 days after returning to hotel despite not requesting (though no garbage or bed refresh).
> Medici restaurant in lower level (with views of florentine garden) open for breakfast only. Menu items during weekdays (entrees $14-18), and weekends are buffet only ($29.95) - generally FNB credit isn't going to cover for most folks. We only availed ourselves of breakfast one day, but was enjoyable and well-prepared (great short rib hash w/ poached egg, son had possibly the freshest/best tasting pineapple juice that I can recall being served in restaurant). Food served at lobby level bar at lunch and in evening - very limited menu, didn't try.
> Pool only open until 5 pm each day - presume due to limited staffing for life guards? Lagoon with "beach" is closed - and judging from overgrown vegetation in water (from what I could see) has been that way for a while.
> Free self-parking at attached (covered) garage that I gather used to be garage for ghost casino, too.
> Resort fee is $29/day/room. Not unexpected (and clearly signposted when making reservations), but still a bummer, especially since this doesn't really seem to get you much - would be nice if there was at least a small daily FNB credit as part of this.

I can see how this hotel can be divisive - this obviously is not the Vegas experience that many are seeking. Though we've seen more progressively more foot traffic with each day, hotel and village area are generally quiet. Again, this was a positive for us. Few restaurants in Village still hanging on, though suspect by a thread - we had great meal at Tokyo Social House on Wednesday evening and were lone customers for duration of 90 minute stay (during prime evening hours). Shout out to Seasons Grocery - in addition to having reasonably priced general grocery items, they serve amazing pastries - brought in fresh daily by German baker with own shop somewhere in Henderson.
