Isn't this something they do for US-bound flights? imo, it's probably due to some overly dramatic border patrol guidelines but I can't remember if this (corralling nonsense with no access to food/bathrooms) happens at other transit hubs in Asia or Middle East. Had to deal with that nonsense for about 40 mins at Helsinki.The point of priority boarding was defeated.
