That SEA-PDX flight is notoriously difficult to get on standby. The amount of open seats can change by the minute. You were at the gate (according to the masters thesis you wrote) 14 minutes prior to departure. That’s simply not enough time for them to change/process a standby for a SEA-PDX flight.
