Second time trying the new Hilton on a corporate stay (having been a regular at the Conrad pre covid) … mixed review. The renovation is substantial and the hotel architecture is impressive. The executive lounge is equally impressive. Staff seem to genuinely care / want to help. The upgrade policy is however near impossible to get anything beyond an executive floor room as a Diamond (which in any case is small). Even with suites available, they won’t provide a complimentary upgrade to a suite (they will however offer to upsell). I say near impossible as my first stay, which was only 3 nights (vs current 7 nights) I did manage to switch to a corner suite after a lot of discussion and pointing to availability on the app (fyi, more like a large corner room than a proper suite). In this regard, the Conrad still feels more premium and more rewarding for return guests. The other downside is the noise insulation - it is not great. Good hotel at the right price point and good location, but I’d take the Conrad if given the choice.
