Update:

1. No reply from Delta executive Allison Ausband ([email protected]). Did a polite follow-up as well.
2. Called Delta again and ask for at least overnight accommodation and/or help with filing for 261 comp from VS. They refused - saying its not their responsibility.
2. Went ahead and filed a complaint with DOT. Got a reply accepting the formal complaint and awaiting response from the airline.
