Hmm... I don't know if it's selective memory on my part, but I recall a hue-and-cry here about the pre-pandemic increase in published qualification levels (silver, gold, plat, 1k), how unfair they were, how unattainable, how stridently unreasonable. While there were a small few who qualified organically under those 2020 qualification levels, the rest of us stopped flying because of the collapse of travel as COVID became global, and UA granted everyone extensions.
My bet is that there will be no more promotions this year (as much as I would likely benefit, personally), and that next year's qualification levels will be the same as this year's: 3.5k, 7k, 10k, 15k. Moreover (channeling my best RNE prognostication here), there will be a minor PQP promotion in 2023Q1 as the US and global economies continue to flirt with recession and business travel continues to be soft.
But you know what they say about prognostication ... wrong almost all of the time.
