The VIP Center was conceived to cater for a small and stable group of high-end customers. The sudden increase in demand due to the Schiphol mess was not something they expected or planned for. I have no doubt that they prioritize their regular loyal (or royal) customers, and make sure they have sufficient capacity to accommodate them, even at short notice. Everybody else will have to make do with whatever is left over.
