In case anyone is looking for decent accommodation in Doha, there's a new hotel opening in Doha, Qatar - Hampton by Hilton Doha Old Town. It's a very nice, brand new property with really affordable prices!
The scheduled opening date as per the website is 4th October 2022 and they're already accepting reservations.

It's just down the road from the Doubletree. And, for all it's problems, the DT offers a full service hotel for rates similar to the Hampton.
For those not tied to Hilton, there's a Holiday inn conveniently located for the airport, by Jadeeda metro station - which has a direct service to the airport.
Also on the airport line, one stop further than the HI, is a Sheraton Four Points: handy for the souq.
