It may not be common -- but it happens in my company! Two of my team are lifetime EXP on AA -- but both have a chance to become 1K on UA for 2023 -- they both fly from GSP / CLT - I'm betting if UA gives them a chance they would switch for the rest of the year -- but agree that its not common -- thus the "targeted" promotion to cities where share is low / fallen since COVID....
