And it's no longer working on the Northeast Corridor, either!

I wonder if Amtrak, after offering free stopovers for decades, has finally eliminated that benefit. The odd thing is that Amtrak's "Service Standards," published in February, 2022, still makes reference to stopovers, and limits them to 23½ hours. The Service Standards are silent as to their being free, but if a stopover itinerary is just being priced as the sum of point-to-point fares, then there would be no need to mention stopovers at all.
