About 15 minutes out from Indy, they announced that us BWI passengers would have to deplane. That the plane was now going to go from Indy to Fort Lauderdale. No biggie. We all deplane, walk two gates and load a different plane to BWI. Fortunately, they let the throughs board prior to the locals. This was after our crew made their way from the DEN flight to the BWI flight.
I ultimately made it home and still had a choice of a great seat. This is not a complaint, Just an observation, really. Both planes were 737-700's, the crew came was the same. I wonder if it was simply to get a different piece of equipment to a locale for maintenance?
I’ve had this happen a few times where we did a pilot escort to a new plane.
one time I was flying a multi stop plane. I think it was a XC 3 stop plane. Last stop in DEN. Because of delays I missed my connection where they did a plane/ crew switch at denver and I was force to take a later connection. They gave me an A1-15 connection.
