Then use a local SIM, even a local data-only SIM, to fully access the US line as it uses the data of the local SIM. I don't think this is currently possible with the iPhone settings.
That’s why I keep the cheap local sim in a different phone. An old iphone. Airplane mode on, wifi on, wifi calling on, and all calls and texts to the US number come through no matter where I am. I just have to remember to charge the second phone.
