I know for a fact that many airlines have a rule that seat changes without pax knowledge after the boarding pass has been issued (whether OL or in the terminal) is only done for strictly operational reasons (for example, the original seat is broken, unexpected UM has to go in a certain seat, etc.) So why does LH feel free to just change C class SEN on the day with no explanation?
I know…I find it quite rude to kick people out of their assigned seat after they’ve checked in and received their BP, and then not even inform them. In this case, doesn’t really make a difference because it was 8G -> 8D, but it’s the principle. And also, turning the tables, why couldn’t Mr. /Mrs. 8G just take 8D instead?
I’ll ask at the airport what happened…
2 other data points:
1) I don’t get a BP anymore for seat 1K, (I got proper BP via email few hours ago when it was 8G) now just check in confirmation, I guess because it’s a bassinet position? Any other reason?
2) the seat map on the LH mobile website and expertflyer don’t really match..,you can see in the screen shots that both were taken at 00:00, but one shows 1H empty and the other shows it as blocked…also other seats that available for assignment show as blocked on EF…
