While the Andaz Suite is nice from an experience standpoint, if it is on the (under)ground floor, I would much prefer any of the Full or Partial Bay View rooms. We experienced both as a group of three adults. The Andaz Suite obviously had the space, an additional television if you think your family might need a second, the additional (closed) room that might be great for privacy or a sleeping infant, a large tub, and a more spacious desk setup. Our particular suite, however, also came with an outdoor area with less privacy due to its location next to the stairs, and an immersive Costa Rican experience as fairly robust millipedes and other exotic bugs seemed to be able to make their way into the suite; this might be a pro rather than a con for your 10-year-old son. The carts that drove by were also more audible in the suite and there was not much of a view for someone just looking to sit and look out, everything is more or less covered in foliage.
In contrast, the Partial Bay View room had both indoor and outdoor vantage points (of the bay and sunset). The outdoor area was much more pleasant compared with the suite, since the elevation provided for wind and fewer ground bound bugs, with more opportunities to see birds and monkeys. Even with the two doubles configuration there was still seating space and it never felt cramped. If you get a rollaway bed in the king configuration you will have even more space. No surprise critters and less cart noise were pluses.
