eBay refunded my money in minutes after bringing this to their attention, and allowed me to keep the items. This happened several times over the years. Even months after the transaction closed.

IMO if there were problems, given the sales history, this seller would've been shut down long ago.

OTOH, think twice before selling. It's very easy to get ripped off by buyer fraud as eBay always errs on the side of the buyer and it's a well known weakness some take advantage of.
Rolling the dice with AA, not eBay. I have been using eBay for many hundreds of transactions over more than two decades and I agree with you on the robustness of their buyer protections.
