Looking at a trip here next January - a couple questions - Costa Rica has been on our bucket list for a while.

I take it the standard suite for upgrade certificates is the "Andaz Suite"? I see that mentioned above. I've looked at dozens of combinations of check in dates and stay lengths. I looked at Open Hotel Alert as mentioned above, and I actually don't see it listed as a room type to search. I can only seem to find this room type available if I look next August or September, which makes it even harder to find here than at the Andaz Maui. Any advice for finding this available?

It'll be my wife and I, and our 10 year old son. So a suite isn't exactly essential but it is quite night. Any comments on the size of the standard room for a family of 3?

The nightly rate here looks high (around $900/night) but maybe that's just the new normal.
