Planning our first trip to Vietnam in June 2023 and will be definitely booking Capella!

I was planning to just fly down to Da nang from Hanoi and stay at the Four Seasons. I like the area cause there's a lot to see around that area. However, I am torn to do Amanoi. I do have 2 kids in toe, so am not sure what else is there to see in the Aman area.

We only have 8 nights total, this trip is a mini RTW trip and we heading to S. Africa after Vietnam. I'd appreciate any input in the Da nang or Nha Trang area or somewhere else.
I was in Vietnam for several weeks this summer. Late April into June is the hottest time across the entire country. If your family does not take well to such high heat and humidity, I might suggest sticking to the south and resort time... Hanoi and all its curiosities are quite miserable to experience in the heat. While we were there, Hanoi was in the midst of a heat wave, and the kids literally did not want to leave the hotel room during the day due to the heat. But we dragged them out to go see experience some cultural heritage despite the mid-40 C daytime temp. It's counterintuitive, but summer weather in HCMC is actually milder than in Hanoi.

Re: Danang, I highly recommend the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula (Bill Bensley designed). The resort is in such a dramatic peninsular mountain seaside setting that makes it a worthy consideration. I have been to Hoi An twice (because everyone who goes to VN seems to want to visit Hoi An) and I can tell you that the town can be seen in a day, but the nearby beach resorts (such as the FS Nam Hai) are fantastic. Danang has the Bana hills family amusement park, and you can also take a quick tour to the My Son temple ruins. Hue's attraction is the imperial city, however you should know that it was almost entirely destroyed during the war of resistance against America and has now been almost entirely rebuilt.
During our trip, we chose Phu Quoc in July rather than Nha Trang, and found the weather to be much more pleasant than expected for the monsoon season.

Hope this helps
