Even with 2 datapoints, I agree with surprise and implausible and I’ll add almost whimsical (by Chase). Furthermore, regarding to which year spend is allocated, I trust myself much more than Chase.
As such, suggest again completing ALL spend that YOU want to be allocated for 2022 by the time of YOUR December 2022 statement

, leaving NO margin for Chase’s whims. Would affect Cat 1-4 and/or Cat 1-7 expiration date by only 30-31 days and Hyatt has been generous in extending Cat 1-4 expiration dates (or more recently
crediting points) and Cat 1-7 are good for 1 year, plenty of time for use. If year-end spend (and resulting TQN) will get you to 60 nights, based on the datapoints which you and I find surprising and implausible, the expiration date for all the 60 night awards (Cat 1-7, 2 SUA, MHC access) won’t be different if that December spend is posted on your December statement or on your January statement. Sorry to sound harsh, but any points and miles monger (like me for example) worth their salt should easily be able to manage credit card spending to appear on one statement or another, to me that’s one of the less complicated parts of this game
