I was hoping to get some TP in the run up to the flight NYC trip to maybe bump up my status a little (currently 0) or after my return during October -

Questions - are there any good TP runs you can recommend on BA metal? And would you suggest doing this before the NYC trip or after....?

My TP year ends 08/11, and the timing of it all is rather unfortunate given that my TP year ends in November, so I'm not even sure the TP runs will be worth it if I'm just going to drop down again very quickly.

Yes, you will go Bronze on that trip and then you will have your status for the rest of this collection year and the following year. Your card expiry date for Bronze will be 31 December 2023 based on your 8 November renewal, so you will have it that long, if you don't earn any other Tier Points.

However, there are currently reduced thresholds through to the end of the year, so it's 225 for Bronze and 450 for Silver. You will have 360 tier points from New York trip, so ideally what you want is 90 more to hit 450 and Silver by 8 November. Since most of the large Tier Point runs require booking a fair way in advance, I doubt they would be suitable for you.

90 Tier Points is really simple to get. A Club Europe flight from Dublin to London is 40 Tier Points, so you just need one return in Club Europe and one return in the cheapest fare (lowest EuroTraveller earns 5 TPs per flight) and you'd make your 450. There are also some Club Europe routes that earn 80 Tier Points. It's just a matter of working out what works for you time wise and financially. Either way, it's simple enough for you and you'd then have Silver (which includes lounge access) for the rest of your year plus the next year.

Good luck!
