HR is not top luxury but there are not many other hotels in Bangkok where you can find a room for 150 USD or less, usually end up upgraded at least in a room which is about 50+ sqm (Deluxe) if not a suite, a relatively new construction (ie not aging hotel), with above average lounge food for dinner, and in a location which is not out of the way. Not to mention service being decent including the GM occasionally mingling with guests in the lounge which sets the tone for all staff throughout.
I agree. I will say that I haven't been a been to come close to those 150usd rates on any of the dates for my current and upcoming trips. This was a holiday weekend so it is a bit extreme but it was 7500thb per night if I paid. In the price range you mention, it is decent value. When it gets north of that......not for me. If I can be in at least a deluxe room I am good.
