Had an odd experience this AM - was connecting BOS-CDG-DUS on AF, BOS-CDG arriving into 2E and CDG-DUS out of 2G, so fully expecting to have to clear immigration and transit security (which was making me nervous given the 1h25min connection, but there was only one CDG-DUS that day).

However what happened was BOS-CDG arrived at an L gate, so walked to 2F and cleared immigration, went down to the waiting area for the 2F-2G bus, and then got let off in the secure area in 2G so I didn’t need to go through security and had plenty of time to spare. Any idea if someone messed up somewhere (have never connected through CDG so not sure if security is supposed to be before entering 2F or 2G) or is this a new change?
