I noticed it some time ago, that now more and more fares require full recalculation if the journey has not commenced. So call center might be right.

It's a one-way. The "C" availability for CGK-IST makes it insanely expensive. One sales office did respond to an email saying they have to take the "availability" of both legs into consideration. I assume this means price / fare bucket as well and not just "is there a seat?" because that is a given (we are the seat).
I have a long layover in IST. Would it make sense I try to change there ? As it would reprice only the last leg? Or dumb/not possible?
