There's usually a one screen banner which short cuts you through the process, with a option to change seats/bags if you wish. This is only on straightforward bookings. It's been in place for about 6 years now.
This was the usual way through the home screen on the app. Had a pop up asking about changing seats, but other than that straight to boarding pass instead of the usual embedded web page.
Guessing it's a new thing in the latest apps as same thing for Mrs Geek on the IOS one as well.
