I've very aware of the xenophobia, hence my lack of expectation that anything will change on a short timeline. Here's hoping for something very un-Japanese to happen but the reality is we'll end up in western Europe or even South Korea for a week or two and I'll keep the rest of the time off in my back pocket for next summer.
