Perhaps AA aren't validating the Zip code field? I know other sites do, and the trick I posted is what's needed to pass Zip validation for Amex cards when using a foreign address.
And I’m just saying it’s not needed. I do it all the time. On aa.com and other merchants. Not sure what else to say. It’s always worked for me.
