Stayed there a couple weeks ago, firs tstay since Covid, and was really disappointed to the changes since then, especially in the lounge.

Arrived a little before 1 and room wasn't ready yet. Not a big deal since check in time isn't until 3 anyway and I had taken a shower at the airport afte rlanding so had them hold my bags and went to a matinee show and got back to the hotel around 5 and room still wasn't ready. They gave me a key to the lounge and told me I could hang out there and they would have housekeeping do my room next.

If you take breakfast in the restaurant now as a diamond it is only the buffet, which is still better than any US hilton with the changes. I remember in past stays they would thank me for being a diamond and allow me to order off the A La Carte menu for free if I wanted and they no longer allow that. Lounge has really gone downhill. I use to enjoy the afternoon tea with the Scones and clotted cream and would grab a a couple finger sandwiches for a light lunch. The only thing they have in the lounge now is bagged chis. I use to enjoy a drink or diet coke and appetizers at happy hour before heading to a show. As indicated in a couple other posts the alcohol selection has really gone downhill. My adult drink of choice was either a coffee and Bailey's or a screwdriver. They no longer have Baileys and the use to have absolut for the Vodka and it's a different brand now and they don't have OJ anymore outside of breakfast in the lounge so I wasn't able to have a screwdriver and the first night there they had no soda at all because they ran out and delivery wasn't until the next day.

No longer have hot appetizers or the dessert or the fruit and cheese board and it's not self serve except for beverages. They bring you out a little plate of olives and nuts and premade canapes that weren't very good.

One thing I use to like was the top shelf of the minibar for storing cold items and that was cleaned out and turned off but they did bring me up a mini fridge for free.

I was at least upgraded from a standard room to a king and they do daily housekeeping

I wish they would just close the lounge now and give diamonds a voucher for the bar or for tea time in the restaraunt.

In the future if the DT West End is cheaper, I'm just going to stay there. Not worth paying a premium for the Waldorf anymore.
