DL flight in coach (N class), on 057 (AF) ticket stock.

After ticket was issued I went into my reservation and was offered a buy-up in either skymiles (370,000) or cash ($3,700) to what I assume is the lowest one way business fare.

Needless to say, I cancelled the ticket and am waiting (fingers crossed) for something better to open up in a premium cabin.

I assume that it will be the same thing for a VS issued ticket
For MSP-CDG nonstop RT, until recently the cheapest D1 fare generally was about $4000, with about $5500 being common too. With this perspective, given how airfares have been rising and there isn't much capacity, $3700 plus a coach fare seems like a fairly normal fare difference even if it doesn't seem like a good deal.
