I apologize in advance if this question has been answered somewhere, but I must be using the wrong terminology because I'm not finding my answer by doing a search.

I had to cancel a flight in June from LAX-ATL due to the groom catching Covid just before the wedding. The wedding is now rescheduled for October. We have a flight credit of a little over $800 apiece. Does anyone have thoughts regarding the potential of first class seats being lower than the currently $1200-1500 I'm seeing now? What would be the best way of getting reasonably low first class seats in late September/October? Would it be better to wait and hope the fare gets lower? I already lost the $300 I'd used to get MCE, and I don't want to risk doing that again if there is any chance we could get into First for closer to the $800 credit apiece we have.

If that is highly unlikely, what seats would you recommend for the flight? My companion is post back surgery, which is why I bought the MCE seats the first time.
