Correct phone number format for BAEC personal info

I am planning to get a prepaid BA Mastercard in order to get the current bonus Avios, but have read that lost of people have been having problems receiving text transaction authorisation codes. This seems to be attributed to some sort of read-across error when the Mastercard picks up a phone number from the BAEC.

This got me to check the info which I have recorded in my BAEC. As an aside, I have never yet received a text regarding a flight so wonder if this is related to the issue below.

The BAEC website says this:

Mobile / cell number (excluding country/region dialing code) e.g. 07123456789 No spaces or other characters

Home number (including area code and excluding country/region dialling code) e.g. 2012345678 No spaces or other characters

So, for both numbers the instruction is to exclude either the country or region dialling code. Yet for a mobile number the 0 prefix is included in the example, but for a landline it is not.

Can anyone confirm whether the 0 should or should not be included in the mobile number (my number does not have the 0 included - is that why I never receive texts, or is that because BA does not routinely send them)?
