I currently have the Amex Platinum and Chase Sapphire Preferred so I’ve been thinking about adding the Venture X card for the following unique benefits:

1) Cap One Lounges
2) Priority Pass Restaurants
3) Hertz Presidential benefits
4) Turkish Airlines transfer partner

The main thing that is keeping me from applying for this card is the requirement to use the travel portal to use the $300 annual travel credit. I usually book direct to get status benefits and upgrades, along with a low to no hassle experience in making changes or cancellations to existing itineraries. As an example, I remember once I had to cancel a rental car booked on another portal and it took months of several calls to get a refund. This is what keeps me away from
3rd party travel sites in booking air and ground travel.
