Which options have you tried:
1) A long UBER Ride up to 300 miles or even longer
2) Amtrak Train
3) Greyhound Bus
4) Rented a one-way car for the long trip to your destination.
5) A Charter or Corporate Flight
Any other ideas? Tell us your story about unusual approaches you used to get to your destination after continuing your trip by air seemed impossible.
Have done 1 and 4:
a. Post-9/11, drove cross-country SEA-ORF to get home, 3 days solo.
b. BOS-IAD-ORF, missed connection, major event in SE Virginia next day (OPSAIL 2000), no flights available for 2 days. Stayed the night with parents in DC, rented a car next morning.
c. ORF-IAD-IST, MX delay of unknown duration out of ORF, rented car one-way to make IAD-IST flight (separate tix), barely made it after driving like a maniac. ORF-IAD flight ended up arriving in IAD with plenty of time to spare, grrrrr....
d. A relative flying non-rev ORF-ATL-Asia couldn't get on ORF flight because of an earlier cancellation. Managed to get space on a flight out of IAD instead, was able to get an Uber to take him ORF-IAD for ~$200 (2nd attempt, first driver refused).
