Thanks for the additional info! Seems like you're having a good / okay time lol. My only real debate is the JW Marriott or this hotel but I believe the points savings and recent upgrades make it a no brainer. Had a bunch of people from Mauritius mention how great the island is and one mentioned trying to stay in a "bubble suite" type room but since we're only there 5 nights I'll probably just stick to one resort

The are 6? of them. If you see pictures of the hotel, the suite is located where the roof peak of each building is.
I didn't go to the Nirvana section. I had offspring with me.
As for breakfast. It was the same every day. Maybe 1% of items would change. Probably due to availability.
I was chatting with the food and beverage manager and he said that breakfast is always the same.
I'm not going to complain. There were plenty of choices.
The juices tasted like something from a plastic container and flavours didn't taste like what was on the label.
There is a guy that walks the beach selling tours.
We purchased one. However the boat broke and we ended up on a shorter tour, on a different day.
Not the end of the world.
We rented a car for this trip.
Driving can be a challenge on the island. I won't pay for an idiot box with a magenta line.
Off the main roads, there are not a lot of signs.
There's lots of parking at the hotel.
Until there's a wedding.
One afternoon we had to park across the street in the big empty lot.
Other than breakfast all our meals were eaten off the property.
There's a large selection of huts the few kilometres up island from the hotel.
There is a taxi stand across the street from the hotel.
I think it was $60USD to the airport.
If you're a runner, there aren't a lot of side walks.
I was able to go about 3km where there were some side walks and parks that mostly, but not entirely kept me off the road.
Lots of stray dogs. But like the people, the are friendly.
