Do the credit card free checked bag apply to codeshare flights ticketed by another carrier?

The T&Cs don't seem to specifically call out whether the reservation needs to have been made through Air Canada or not. T&Cs simply state that the flight needs to be operated by Air Canada, and bags checked in by Air Canada.
