Yes Flyer LX, it has always been the case that E+ can be renewed either by collecting 40k status miles in Y1 or 60k in Y1-2. However, there is currently some uncertainty about whether the rules have been changed since the renewal no longer shows if you collect >40k status miles in Y1. TK unfortunately sometimes changes the M&S rules without telling anyone.
