Close to the airport and super cheap and therefore an option for arrival and also just to store your luggage prior to a 12-2am departure: Courtyard Culture Village or Aloft Dubai Airport. I used them a few times already for this purpose.
Not as cheap but equally close and also a good deal for the first night: Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Center
